Blip #7 – The Lesser-Spotted Julian

UNITED KINGDOM, London : Wikileaks founder Julian Assange (R) shakes hands with French politician Jean Luc Melenchon inside the Ecuadorian embassy in central London, on December 6, 2012. AFP PHOTO/Leon Neal

Today can definitely be filed under eclectic.  After managing to be the lucky photographer on duty for AFP outside the hospital when Kate decided to check out this morning, I was then sent to the Ecuadorian embassy for an incredibly rare opportunity to photograph Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.  Having been a resident of the embassy since June 19th, he’s not been seen at the local corner shop very often due to the rather high police presence outside his door 24-7 so I was pretty chuffed to get a peek inside his impromptu address.  Sadly the peek lasted about 12 seconds and we were forbidden from talking to him but beggars can’t be choosers…

  1. Wild! A rare glimpse and proof enough that he’s still in there.

  3. Cheers! Yup, I can confirm, he’s still alive and still stuck in there (much to the “pleasure” of the police team outside…)
